Nia Jones: RGN, BN (Hons)

Senior Research Nurse

Mrs Nia Jones has been a Research Nurse in the Wound Healing Research Unit since 2009 becoming a permanent team member after an initial six month secondment. She was subsequently promoted to Senior Research Nurse. She qualified from the University of Glamorgan in 2006 and prior to her appointment worked in general surgery where she developed her interest in wound care. During her current role Nia has been involved in multiple commercial and academic research trials and has had experience of managing allocated clinical trials. These include patient recruitment, obtaining informed consent, data management and also co-ordinating with study sponsors and monitors. She has published work based on studies undertaken within the department and also has a clinical role as part of the NHS Outpatients Service.
