Amy Ferris: MBBCh, MRCP (Geriatrics)

Consultant Physican

Dr Ferris is a consultant in geriatric and general medicine with Cardiff and Vale Health Board.  She has a special interest in wound healing and tissue viability and during her training she spent 2 years developing her skills with the department of wound healing.  She has a particular interest in venous leg ulcers and pressure injuries, and the relationship between chronic wounds and frailty.

Dr Ferris has completed a research project analysing the relationship between venous leg ulcers and plasma iron levels and has also published several articles in a range of peer reviewed journals.
Dr Ferris is also very interested in teaching, contributing to the Wound Healing Masters Course and medical undergraduate course with Cardiff University as well as teaching on courses through the Welsh Wound Innovation Centre.
